(TRINIDAD, Colo.) - Maria Duran, a pin hitter/defensive specialist has joined the 2017-18 Trinidad State volleyball team. Duran is 5'8" with a kill percentage of .252, serving percentage of .858, and 61 blocks on her senior year.
"Maria is a player that came to our try-out in November," commented Coach Melissa Hardman. "She took charge of whatever side of court she was on and never looked back. Maria will be a good asset to the team with her competitiveness and drive on and off the court. She will push her teammates to be their best!"
Duran is extremely active in her school choir. Her freshman year she won the Janet Spangenberg Weed Music Scholarship, she was a 3-year member of varsity choir, and an all-state choraler her junior and senior year. Maria also plays club volleyball and plans on majoring in Nursing.
